Williams Writing works with individuals, organizations, and businesses to make the words right — to fix the grammar and punctuation, to organize the flow of information.
Do you worry about punctuation and grammar? Are you concerned that your written materials lack focus?
Williams Writing works with individuals, organizations, and businesses to make the words right — to fix the grammar and punctuation, to organize the flow of information, to ensure the intended meaning resounds.
Primary areas of expertise include editing services such as proofreading, copyediting, and rewriting (nonfiction); interior book design (page layout and typesetting); newsletter design and production; and Web site design and maintenance (small-scale sites).
Please look around this site to see if Williams Writing provides the services and quality you seek.
Williams Writing, Editing & Design is Sandra K. Williams. I’ve been in business since 1996. Before striking out on my own I ran a three-person marketing and publicity office, edited a weekly newspaper, repaired avionics equipment, and attended college. (I have degrees in English, business, and electronics.)
My clients come from all over the community, from individuals to small businesses to nonprofits to for-profit corporations. I’ve worked on diverse projects — brochures, newsletters, manuscripts, book layouts, Web sites. For large team projects my role is usually writer/editor; for smaller projects I handle all aspects of writing and designing.
Editing ServicesIf you are a writer whose fiction manuscript needs to be edited — not proofread — I would like to look at a sample chapter before accepting the project. The manuscript may need more work than simple editing, in which case you should contact a book doctor
Design ServicesI design and lay out newsletters, brochures, and other materials that will be printed in one or two colors or displayed online. My focus is the information that justifies the piece’s existence and how to organize that information for easy comprehension.
Web Site ServicesA Web site that looks obviously homespun reflects poorly on your business or organization. A better cost-saving option, in my opinion, is to have your site professionally designed, and then you can maintain the site yourself
ProofreadingProofreading involves checking for grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, formatting, and conformance to style guidelines, with no changes in wording suggested except for word misuse or proofing the document against an original
Style GuidesA style guide determines how spelling, punctuation, and other elements of your work should be handled. For instance, some guides say the comma before “and” when listing items in a series should be omitted unless the lack of a comma causes confusion.
ProductionProduction may involve everything from writing the articles to arranging printing and mailing. What services do you need? I have set an editorial calendar, written articles and reminded columnists their articles were due, edited articles and mailing
