Who Are We ?

The largest Professional Association in Europe representing organisations in the Parking and Traffic Management Industry. These organisations are many and varied, ranging from Manufacturers, Car Park operators, Local Authorities, Health Authorities, Airports, Railways, Shopping Centres, Theme Parks, Consultants, in fact anyone involved in the construction, management and enforcement of Parking and in the wider Traffic Management Industry. Currently we have 600 members, equally split between the public and private sectors.

One of the British Parking Association's (BPA's) long term aims is the formation of a Parking Society. The aim of the Society will be to cater for individual parking professionals offering them services, opportunities for development

Vehicle Immobilising
The BPA is a Member Services Organisation and represents the interests of local authorities, consultants, suppliers and service providers in parking. As a result, Vehicle Immobilising (clamping) operators had been excluded from membership since 1996.

Broadly speaking these requirements mean the parking operator has put in place measures that help to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, thereby doing everything they can to prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime in their parking area

The BPA have established themselves as the standards setting body for the parking industry. They have committed to a project which will address the skills needs of the whole industry and this will result in development of a skills strategy
