Govan law centre (GLC) is an independent, charitable community controlled law centre operating in Scotland (charity no. SCO30193). GLC aims to tackle unmet legal need within the Greater Govan area of Glasgow and other areas of legal need in Scotland, as sanctioned by our Community Board of Trustees (the Govan Law Centre Trust). We provide a range of free and low cost legal educational services.
Through the legal practice of Dailly & Co., Solicitors we undertake expert advice, court and tribunal representation. GLC is part funded by Glasgow City Council. Our national Education Law Unit is funded by the Scottish Executive & BBC Children in Need. GLC`s Parliamentary Unit is self-funding. Our Prevention of Homelessness Project (Glasgow) is funded by the Glasgow Homelessness Partnership. The Homelessness Partnership is a joint partnership between Glasgow City Council, Greater Glasgow Health Board, Glasgow Homelessness Network (representing the Voluntary Sector) and the Scottish Executive. These organisations are working together to reprovision homelessness services in Glasgow to eliminates the need for use of large scale hostels and provide options for homeless people which minimise the personal, social and economic damage that homelessness can cause. This includes eliminating the need to sleep rough and to reduce levels of repeat homelessness.

Preventing Mortgage RepossessionWe undertake a significant volume of this work. Where a calling-up notice is served we can raise a summary application (by way of Initial Writ) at the Sheriff Court. We have such cases on-going at present in G51.
