ITTC facilitates economic growth in Kansas through the transfer of know-how and inventions to existing industry and start-up companies. The Center`s technical focus is on advancing knowledge
The Information and Telecommunication Technology Center contains six laboratories on the University of Kansas campus. Five laboratories are located in Nichols Hall on West Campus, with the sixth, the e-Learning Design Laboratory, housed in the Dole Human Development Center. The e-Learning Design Lab is a joint creation between ITTC and KU`s Center for Research on Learning, which is also in Dole. ITTC has more than 35 faculty and staff researchers and 140 students who develop technologies and advance knowledge in the areas of bioinformatics, information technology, telecommunications, radar systems and remote sensing.
Communications And NetworkingThe Communications and Networking Systems Laboratory investigates all aspects of information processing and transport. Faculty and graduate students in CNSL work on high-capacity networks, optical systems, agile and software defined radios, innovative
Bioinformatics And ComputationalThe Bioinformatics and Computational Life-Sciences Laboratory (BCLSL) advances methods and tools geared to biological, biochemical, and medical applications. BCLSL investigators work with collaborators in the life sciences to identify research, develop
Computer Systems DesignThe Computer Systems Design Laboratory (CSDL) focuses on the design, implementation and verification of systems whose primary components include computers. CSDL research addresses the design of computing systems ranging from small embedded elements
E-Learning DesignThe e-Learning Design Laboratory (eDL) responds to the emerging challenges and opportunities in online education. eDL studies and develops new learning environments and tools for students of all ages. This includes the study, development, and research of
Intelligent SystemsThe Intelligent Systems Laboratory (ISL) advances knowledge in artificial intelligence, intelligent agents, information retrieval, data mining, and robotics. ISL is customizing IT services, creating smarter and user-friendlier environments and devices.
Radar Systems & Remote SensingThe Radar Systems and Remote Sensing Laboratory (RSL) applies microwave remote sensing to improve our understanding of the ocean, atmosphere, sea ice, polar ice, vegetation, snow, soil moisture, and subsurface features. Activities include sensor
