GAMA provides an effective catalyst for industry problem-solving and is a respected representative of industry interests before legislative, regulatory and standards-writing organizations.
GAMA, the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association, is a national trade association of manufacturers of residential, commercial and industrial appliances and equipment, components and related products. GAMA`s scope includes oil-fired and electric equipment as well as gas-fired equipment. GAMA’s members account for over 90% of U.S. sales of gas and oil-fired space heating equipment and gas, oil and electric water heaters. GAMA also represents manufacturers of equipment used in the production, transmission and distribution of fuel gases, and manufacturers of power generation equipment such as fuel cells and microturbines used to provide building services. GAMA`s origins date back to 1918 with the organization of the American Gas Association (A.G.A.) and the formation of the Manufacturers Section within A.G.A. GAMA is an experienced, versatile and dynamic national trade association serving the interests of manufacturers of gas, oil and electric appliances and equipment, components and related products used in residential, commercial and industrial applications. GAMA enables its members to stay abreast of relevant legislative and regulatory developments at both the federal and state levels. Besides keeping its members well-informed, GAMA develops and delivers industry consensus positions on proposed legislation and regulations. GAMA supports the development of improved products and installation procedures. The GAMA technical staff provides association members with timely and relevant information on standards development activities and coordinates industry input into standards development.
