Siemens Business Services GmbH & Co. OHG (Siemens Business Services) was formed on October 1, 1995 as a subsidiary of Siemens AG and Siemens Nixdorf Informations systeme AG (SNI). At the beginning of the second fiscal year, 1 October 1996, Siemens Business Services incorporated other Operating Groups of Siemens AG and from Siemens Nixdorf. Siemens Business Services extended its field of activity. On October 1, 1998, Siemens AG pooled its core competences of information and communications technology to create just one single business segment, I&C (Information and Communications), made up of three Operating Groups - I&C Products, I&C Networks, and Siemens Business Services. This concentrated approach enabled I&C to gain an important competitive edge. Today the Information and Communications business segment employs more than 110,000, and its sales account for a major proportion of Siemens AG`s total sales.
On April 1, 2000, Siemens Business Services took over the Siemens IT Service Group, enabling us to offer the entire range of electronic business solutions from a single source. Siemens Business Services contributed specialist expertise in analyzing and rolling out IT solutions, while Siemens IT Service offered extensive technical know-how in the management of complete IT networks. The acquisition of ENTEX Information Services in March 2000 enabled Siemens Business Services to further strengthen its product-based offering.
