Our focus is to empower children in these environments with the knowledge needed for their successful introduction into the work force.

Established in Connecticut in 1992, Computers 4 Kids is a nonprofit community technology center whose programs address and integrate these primary goals: To distribute affordable Internet-capable computers to families, schools, and organizations. Many of our programs provide PC ownership as an incentive to learning, utilizing a `learn and earn` approach. Cost-effectively utilize technology, donated and new, to help achieve educational, economic and social gains for learners. To help achieve those goals, Computers 4 Kids` activities are focused on: The development of technology and educational programs for youth and adults. Direct distribution of affordable technology equipment to community members. Provision of technical support and assistance to program members. Connect homes and schools through the use of technology.
Computers 4 Kids helps students of all ages acquire the technology and technology skills they need to succeed in the future by providing equitable access to technology resources in homes, schools and communities.
Computers 4 Kids has reached over 50,000 children, mostly of minority status, whose socio-economic status is at and below the poverty line. Within the past year, Computers 4 Kids has distributed more than 1200 Internet ready Pentium PCs loaded with educational and productivity software to technology-needy families, schools and organizations throughout Connecticut. For many of the families, this has been their first opportunity to own a home computer and gain access to Internet resources.
