NORTH OF ENGLAND’S largest independent estate agent Reeds Rains has reported a slight increase in property prices during August, compared to its July Property Barometer.
The rise of 1.2% since the beginning of August means that the average house price in the North of England is now £138,892, compared to £137,264 last month. The figure marks an increase of 4.59% for the Average House Price in the North over the past year. For the company North there was a slight increase on July of 1.2%, with the average house price rising by £1628.
Information for Reeds Rains’ ‘Property Barometer’, takes all recent house sale prices from the company’s 130 branches across the North of England to establish the current average house price. Nigel Favas, Reeds Rains’ Managing Director commented: “Following the reduction in interest rates in August we have already experienced a slight increase in property prices compared to July’s figures. It appears the reduction has provided a boost to housing market confidence, which is predicted to grow over the coming months.”
