Our Vision: To be the key enabler in transforming Mauritius into a Cyber island and the regional ICT hub.
Our Mission: To e-power people, businesses and the public sector by developing and promoting ICT and ICT-related services in Mauritius.
To foster the development and growth of information technology, information systems and computer related services in Mauritius. To advise the Government on the formulation of national policies in respect of the promotion, development and control of information technology and its applications; To assist in the framing of appropriate national education, training and research plans in the field of information technology in order to build the necessary expertise base for consolidating the information technology industry in Mauritius.
To achieve its objectives and contribute towards building Mauritius into a Cyber Island, the NCB creates IT awareness and spreads IT culture in Mauritius to e-power people , promotes the development of the Mauritian ICT industry and operates incubator centres for start-ups in ICT sector to e-power businesses and is involved in the e-government initiatives to e-power the public sector.
Ict Culture PromotionWith the objective of e-powering people, NCB undertakes various activities to bridge the digital divide and create an information-based society in Mauritius. The Government is fully committed to develop the ICT sector as the fifth pillar of our economy.
E-GovernmentE-Government consists in the electronic delivery of quality services to citizens and the business community whilst at the same time facilitating inter-governmental and intra-governmental exchange of information in an effective and efficient manner.
Incubator CentreAn incubator centre provides a support structure and an adequate framework for enterprise creation which brings together specialised resources aimed at assisting companies before their setting up and / or during their initial years of operation.
Cyber Caravan ProjectLaunched in November 2000, the Cyber Caravan Project aims at making IT facilities available in the most isolated areas in Mauritius through NCB's Cyber Caravans. The NCB presently operates 2 Cyber Caravanes, equipped with 9 and 10 PCs respectively.
Ict IndustryOne of the missions of the NCB is to e-power businesses in Mauritius by developing and promoting the ICT industry.
Infotech 2005The aim of Infotech 2005 is to promote the widespread diffusion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Mauritius and to increase awareness on emerging technologies.
