The Department conducts a B.Sc. Engineering course for 100 students (formerly 48 students), a Postgraduate Diploma / Master of Engineering Course for 20 students and Postgraduate Research for 12 students.

The Department has many laboratories with facilities for students to carry out laboratory assignments and project work.

The senior academic staff of the Department have had specialized training abroad in fields of study such as Optoelectronics, Physical Electronics, Medical and Industrial Electronics, Optical Communications, Digital Communications, VLSI design, Signal Processing, Semiconductors and Electromagnetics.
